2028 Ram Dakota pickup new info: Unique BOF chassis, 100K units annual sales expected

Some new Ram midsize pick up details:

• To be built at Toledo south production plant, where Jeep Gladiator is also built
• Won't share same platform as Gladiator, but gets its own unique body-on-frame BOF design
• 100K unit annual sales expected, requiring third shift to be added at Toledo south plant

The unique BOF frame design is interesting. Wonder why not just use the Wrangler/Gladiator platform and chassis and save extra R&D costs, as well as separate manufacturing process.

A new Wrangler (and probably Gladiator) is due out for 2028/29 model year. This news about Dakota having a new chassis but being built along side the Gladiator makes me wonder if Gladiator might share the Dakota BOF platform. I heard rumors that they were looking at "what if Gladiator was its own separate vehicle?"
