Third post in this thread.

Actually first line of the first post in this thread which I edited 30 minutes after posting it. It seems some people must read only the post title and then comment without reading any of the other comments.

Tesla will unveil a couple ready for production, and some still in development.

Routers will say:
"But, most were concept cars"

What makes a car cheaper.

Parts or Labor ?

we all know labor is not getting any cheaper, nor are parts. But eliminate human labor and assemble it with his robots and you just cut out a large portion of expense.

Elon is building more and more robots. So once he has the AI and robots up to speed,Tesla should be able to produce a less expensive vehicle as long as parts don’t continue to rise at an unforeseen rate.

What still worries me is Apple dropped their self driving car. Fiskers is in the dump and so is Lordstown. Canoo is barely holding on. Ford is pretty much Flat.

So is all electric the future or is Hybrid the best of both worlds?

Tesla shares have bottomed out. But more, sit or sell?

Regarding Model 2 vs Cybertruck
I do enjoy my Cybertruck but I started to think the Elon might be right that the Cybertruck has the potential to “kill” Tesla’s ability to reach its full potential.

The cancellation of M2 is giving up the lower segment to the Chinese auto manufacturers.

I am wondering if Tesla would have been focused on M2 and not on the Cybertruck the company would have been in a much better position regarding growth and market share capture potential.

In a way, the Cybertruck was/is a distraction in the bigger economic wave of electrification. There is almost no chance for Tesla to catch up on that space anymore.

I am just sad realizing that the product I love might caused Tesla market share loss. They (China) have disrupted the disruptor (Tesla).
I believe that the Model 2 and the Cybertruck will both move forward as success stories. Both are very important market segments. The pickup truck is akin to the “cruiser” style of motorbike which stimulated even BMW to eventually build a few - because having a tiny slice of a huge market can often be better/smarter than a large slice of a small or shrinking market. Triumph Motorbikes, which has its roots in “standard” bikes, now offers various trim lines of the Bonneville including the SpeedMaster and Bobber, not to mention the Rocket 3 - all of which target the cruiser segment buyers, mostly. Jap bikes have had Harley clones for years - successfully. Anyway, the CT is, IMO, not going to be a mistake - but it is ground-breaking in some of its engineering design and manufacturing methods, difficult though they may be.

A pickup truck and an entry-level (hatchback?) sedan - both good moves in my opinion as a shareholder. YMMV, of course. Exciting times!

Some very interesting news is that we will most likely get a peak at what the "M2" will look like and get an idea about many of it's features. We may even get some information on it's new production method at the robotaxi reveal on 8/8/24. As far as the either/or hypotheses about the Cybertruck and "M2", I think that Tesla and Elon have demonstrated that they have the ability to do two or more things at once. :)

I just hope they aren't prioritizing the Robotaxi over M2, which this announcement seems to imply. A drop of water on the backup cam gives me warnings that FSD may not work properly. I don't see how they have the hardware in any vehicle to do a fully autonomous robotaxi that won't get stranded in a light rain if it needs to back up.

The story by Reuters is made up designed to hurt tesla but has some truth.. Unfortunately tesla may not go after Reuters for writing false information because tesla has to spill all the beans in the courts. Tesla will just do what they did before ignore the noise.
The real story:
1. FSD has been doing so well that Elon and the team decided to move quicker to develop "ROBOTAXI" THAT WAS MOVING AT SLOWER PACE.
2. keep moving at ok pace with the "model 2" but get some man power moved to ROBOTAXI project to help speed it up.
Now tesla has done that many times even in the production lines is to move personnel etc...to where it is needed first. Since FSD versions 12 has been moving fast now and has no limitations anymore it make sense to move fast because Chinse AND OTHER competitors are copying tesla and running neuro network.
The technology is moving fast and tesla haters are trying really hard to screw the company up by taking a small bits of info from some employees that could be a janitor listening to engineers talking in the bathroom or an engineer giving them small bit of info. THE STOCK DROPPED VERY FAST AFTER THE STORY BROKE.
I support the move to ROBOTAXI NOW because it will be far better than chasing model 2. By going that route the media Tesla haters have to come up with new story of lies. You guys can argue otherwise, I am telling you the story.

Robotaxi vs model 2 IS THE DISCUSSION.

Its worse than that. The sheer idiocy of even contemplating a car without controls just boggles the mind. How are you supposed to have fine control over the car? How is the car supposed to drop you off at a crowded intersection? How are you supposed to navigate parking it? How will it handle the vast legal and insurance questions?
