I’ve been hoping for a ram midsize truck for a few years. Currently have a ford ranger 2020 super cab just wishing it had more interior space. I’d love a a crew cab with at least a 5.5 foot bed preferably 6’

Hi everyone, currently have a 2022 Ram 1500 and work for one of the Big 3 here in Michigan. I have been thinking of a Ranger Raptor, a Ram with the 3.0 Hurricane, or a new Dakota for my next vehicle. Can't wait for the press reviews of the new Dakota.

Good day all! Happy to be here. Past owner of 2011 Dodge Dakota. A little underpowered, but I really enjoyed the truck. For various reasons, I sold it after a number of years thinking I didn’t need a pickup. Wrong! Eventually, I replaced it with a 2019 Ford Ranger Lariat (crew). Does the job mostly, but not impressed. Been following the new “Dakota” development since the rumors began and really looking forward to a solid, reliable, and quality built Ram truck product, with a proper powerplant. Preferably, without a turbo.

However, being also a multi-Jeep owner and Dodge driver, I am presently a little nervous with the entire Stellantis line (as evidenced by their lack of quality control and the mere fact that here we are on the doorstep of 2026 and it still does not even have a real mid-size truck nor is this one even projected to be on the market until 2027 or 2028). So they are really going to have to impress me with the new Dakota before I shell out the projected $40,000-plus for one. And let’s face it, realistically, by the time this truck gets to market with a few desirable options, we are more likely closer to the $50k mark than $40k.

Nevertheless, looking forward to all of the rumors, innuendo, comments, questions, hype, and BS that goes with a site like this before a new model appears. The next 18 months should be very interesting, particularly as more information leaks out and test buggies hit the streets. If you hear it, post it. And, of course, it should go without saying, (relevant) pictures are always desired.

Happy New Year to one and all!

Steve
