Dealerships are such hot garbage and need to be taken out

If you've bought a Tesla, or seen the online complaints, then there's an obvious benefit of dealerships: they are expert detailers.
I've done both and I have to say that the experiences did not match the on-line whinging. Not saying that some people haven't had bad experiences with Tesla and conversely not all experiences with traditional dealerships leave one feeling as if he has been dealing with feelthy peecture salesmen.

In any case, this is capitalism (or its residue, at least). If the no-dealer model is preferred by the public the dealership model will take itself out.

I don't get the complaints here. Everyone is nodding and agreeing because we all know this.

Most of us are 50+ and have had to screw with dealer nonsense for decades. Is it that hard to work around them or find the less crappy ones? This is a lesson I learned when I was 20 and after I figured it out just pretend they don't exist.

If you aren't buying a Tesla, buy your car through Costco, it's worth the membership for that alone. Failing that, through AAA. In many cases if you do it through Costco, the dealer will bring your car to you and you sign the paperwork and walk away. AAA will even find a car for you in this tight market.

Sell your car online. I used Craigslist, but Facebook has auto sales too. Getting someone who will pay more than dealerships should take all of 2 days.

Use independent mechanics for your vehicle maintenance (Costco or tire shop for tires).

Dealerships will still (mostly) suck, you don't have to deal with them. Most of them are going to go broke or scale way down in the next 10 years regardless.

Having worked in and around car dealerships for nearly 30 years, I can say they are much worse than trash.
Worse than you can imagine.
Which is why the Tesla business model is so refreshing.
And I got me 2 Cybertrucks on order, and looking to buy a Model 3 LR or order the Model 2 when able.

I don't disagree.

I don't care for Walmart. Just the whole approach is a mess and products are often crappy, plus they treat their employees like crap. I don't bitch about it often because I don't go there. That's my solution to pretty much all crap businesses. Fool me once, shame on you...
