Will USA bill enable TSLA to build its own “chips”?

USA, worried CHN chips are unsafe even TSMC is at-risk, motivated passing bill funding new US Chip making. Funding BILLIONS to re-home chip designs, chip fabs, chip manufacture and geo-fence US chip technology through measures in the bill.
Tesla have MILLIONS of products shipped every year that require multiples of a single chip and DOJO that is just one Supercomputer comprised of Tesla bespoke chip design. SpaceX has its Starlink and Swarm sats that depend on hardened chips for space environs. Neuralink have chips that would be foolish not hardened not secure.
Apple just vertcally integrated”chips” by designing and building upon its PA-RISC acquisition to produce a M-series monolithic mem-space turbo-charging its product Performance.
With Billions on the table anyone in chip-fab have the numbers whether TSLA could compete in building its own and keep-up with Moore’s Law?

Anyone in chip fab has to keep up with Moore's, or just fade. And Tesla has been making its own chips for a while now, but went with not silicon, but silicon carbide, which reduces energy loss by 50%, and is more durable than the status quo. Another way Tesla is just better than the competition.[/QUOTE]

No, Tesla has said they are not interested in making chips. It's not cheap nor easy to do so. What Tesla will do is reduce the amount of chips and consolidate functionality into less chips, even if it requires custom ones. Tesla does not shy away from that, unlike other automakers that want to use mostly off-the-shelf components.

I could envision Tesla entering into a long-term contract with a semiconductor foundry, so as to ensure a supply line.

ElonMusk==Willy Wonka
Original frame:
Will Willy Wonka build a Machine that makes chips for machines it GigaMfgrs?

Your reply to original.
No — Willy Wonka just eliminates chips for the machines it GigaMfgrs

NEW QUESTION framing ?:
1) Does Willy Wonka have AI machine to eliminate chips in machines?
2) Would Willy Wonka use DEEPMIND/DOJO type machine to design a custom chip then print custom chips that replace all other chips for USmfgrs?

His post reads fine.

Tesla is not making chips and will not. Musk has said this at least once.

Tesla does consolidate components to reduce the number of chips required (an/ or damned near any other component they can eliminate). Sometimes they use custom chips.

Not sure what your point is.

I think that was his point. rr can get a bit poetic.

Can TSLA switch to programmable ASIC‘s?(what ASIC can’t do)

It was an attempt to get at Elon’s robotics/automation repurposing of TESLA scaling chips for the AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY by automating withML(AI machine learning). Using HDL software to design custom ASIC’s with DOJO maybe for Tesla and selling the design/chip after building a FAB plant by using BIDEN BILLIONS to rehome chipmaking to USA, Tesla vertical integrates.

Lokked like a win-win IF ML is a realistic goal. Design is the critical path time drain and ML the killer.app. BILLIONS from Uncle Sam is how Elon rolls the dice when its not all his skin on the line he has had the greatest success.
