Saw this a while back when I was right behind a police cruiser.

Notice that just to the left and right at the top of the license plate, there are what look like 2 white LED lights. Not sure what those are or how they get used.

Seems like they wouldn’t be incredibly useful. Could possibly blind a driver behind the cruiser. But so small, they probably don’t put out enough light to “light the area”.

Anyone have insight as to what those are or how to use them?

They look like an illegal method of blocking people from photoing the license plate in the dark.

Lots of red and blue marks from missed bullets.
Someone tried to shut down those annoying lights?

They are red or blue LED lights that are in a clear housing and will show the proper color when activated.

Ahh... so not something needed for my CT. I was thinking that it would be nice to have some light in the back for loading and unloading in the dark. Not really sure where it would work best. Strobes could work for an outdoor rave but not so much for loading.

Do you think it is good idea to ignor the police car lights?
Even if they are annoying?
O-o, thank you

I think it's pretty inappropriate for them to mount them in such a way that you cannot record their license plate while their flashing lights are on.

They're supposed to be the good guys.
