Ford EV will gain access to Tesla Superchargers and come with standard NACS ports starting 2025!

Starting 2024 Fords will have access to the Tesla Supercharging network.

$hit, oh well at least there aren't very many Fords out there.

Interesting to scope that

Ford’s sold about 100K since mid-202; about 27,000 units of BEV in the U.S. in fiscal 2021 (entirely Mustang Mach E), about 62,000 in 2022 (Mach E + 1/2 year of Lightning and 1/2 year of E-Transit)

With 2022 being > 100% higher than that of 2021 (and ‘22 being only 1/2 years of of two new models), if that ramp trajectory holds (if) to ‘23 it could be 120K in FY 23

That would put it at around 250K total Ford units on the streets at start of ‘24, and by end of ‘24 around around a total of 400K.

GM just outsold BEVs compared to Ford this quarter, so then there’s those.

But adding up all the Ford and GM on the streets compared to the quarterly flood of Teslas being sold?

If current Tesla owners are worried about superchargers getting busy, it’s Tesla itself that is by several orders of magnitude the main culprit

Perhaps GM/Ford add a *touch* of insult to injury somehow, and I empathize

But the addition of GM/Ford to the supercharger network will be a rounding error compared to the forthcoming onslaught of new Teslas being added to the current supercharging system

when it comes to crowding of superchargers, Tesla has its work cut out for it irrespective of GM/Ford additions
