Three days ago (on April 29, 2020), FCA formally submitted a trademark application to revive the DAKOTA name, the biggest signal yet that the company will bring a mid-size Ram Dakota to market to take on the likes of the Tacoma, Ranger, Colorado and even the Gladiator!

Great news finally. With the Gladiator as more of a niche truck they need a bigger volume seller to take on Tacoma. The Dakota can ride on the coattails of the recent record Ram sales and make an immediate splash in the midsize market. (y)

Bring it! With the 1500 TRX ready to drop soon, hopefully we'll see a Dakota TRX introduced too. FCA better not wimp out like Ford did by keeping the Ranger Raptor out of the US market bc they were afraid of cannibalizing F150 Raptor sales..
