That's pretty disrespectful as it doesn't disagree with anything I said. And skipping the rules by always marking you transponder 'inop' is not going to go over well.

Crissa,

I’m not being mean or disrespectful, but you clearly don't comprehend when you're being mansplained.

Yours truly,
The Internet

The only problem that rich people have is is the government will tax them to support the poor. In the rich person’s mind, the money is their own, and not to share.

Hmm.

Maybe?

Musk did just pay something like $11b in taxes last year. There are ways he could have avoided a lot of those taxes.

Buffett, while he doesn’t pay any more taxes than needed I don’t believe he is donating the vast majority of his money.

Bezos is bought an island, sued his neighbors for growing trees too tall, has spent $100 million+ on yacht racing, and flew to space.

Rich dudes are in a lot of ways much like us. Some are cool and want to help people. Some are assholes. I’ll let you decide which is which.

It's tough to handle this fortune and fame. Everybody's so different, I haven't changed

Crissa,

Respectfully you don’t understand how the national airspace system works and aviation as a whole. There are towered controlled and untowered airports and not all aircraft are tracked because there are other types of airspace with different rules. Even “jets” can take off from an airport and nobody will know who they are and where they are going. If you are VFR (Visual flight rules) then you cant be tracked unless your the military doing it. If you don’t have a flight plan with a squawk code then your a ghost as simple as that.
Fat chance of a jet flying VFR. It is not economical to stay below 18,000 feet.

(Retired Military Aviator - used of speed most of my day above 32,000 feet turning JP-8 into noise)

Going to be funny when this kid tries to buy or drive a Tesla, good opportunity for a little Karma.

Musk isn’t petty.

He’s not going to chase after some kid who is clever but not very bright.

Man, this whole Twitter-bot tracking Elon Musk's jet situation is straight out of a movie! It's nuts how a simple project by a college kid turned into something that caught the attention of the world's richest man. Are you asking for 5k to take down the account? But then, trying to up the ante to 50k for college funds and maybe a Model 3? Those are some serious negotiation skills right there. No wonder Musk went radio silent after that last exchange. Classic move. But you know what's interesting? Hiring a private jet isn't always as expensive as it seems. I remember when we organized a trip and hired a Fort Lauderdale private jet. It was surprisingly affordable, especially when you split the cost among a group.

Taylor Swift threatens legal action against Florida student who tracks her jet

By Catherine Thorbecke, CNN
3:36 PM EST, Tue February 6, 2024

Attorneys for Taylor Swift are threatening legal action against the Florida college student who tracks the private jets of celebrities and public figures, including Swift.

Jack Sweeney confirmed to CNN on Tuesday that he received a cease-and-desist letter threatening legal action from attorneys for Swift about the social media accounts he runs that track Swift’s flights. The news was first reported by the Washington Post.

Sweeney is the same person who famously drew ire from billionaire Elon Musk for tracking his jet travels online. Musk, who owns X, disbanded Sweeney’s account “@ElonJet” on the social media platform formerly known as Twitter in December 2022.

Sweeney, who was let back on the X platform, also runs accounts that track the private jet movements of Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, and a spate of other celebrities and public figures. Musk has previously said the accounts pose a “security risk” for him and his family.
